Our new mission at Bluefish TV plus a free video download

Yesterday I sent the email below to our 100,000+ church customers.

What does it look like to “live like Jesus” in today’s culture?

Thirty years ago my grandpa and dad started our ministry. They had a passion to film the stories of missionaries living around the world in hopes that those stories would inspire people in America to put their faith in action. Over the years the methodology changed from missionary documentaries to video-driven Bible study resources. But the mission stayed the same:  inspire and equip Christians to live like Jesus in front of their family, neighbors and co-workers.

Now in 2010, I get to stand on the foundation of all that’s been built before me and lead Bluefish TV into the future. I am grateful for the other young leaders on our team who are passionate about serving the church.

Our culture tells us that we are “number 1″ and that the right way to live is to look out only for myself.  As our team has wrestled with this reality, we determined that following Jesus is going to require some sacrifice.  It’s going to require that we trade in some of our selfish pursuits in order to minister to those around us.

This leads me to our new mission here at Bluefish TV:

We are helping people trade in the pursuit of the American Dream for a world that desperately needs Christ.

We are creating our resources so that people don’t just KNOW about Jesus but they are inspired to ACT on their faith.

The concept of “trading in” something isn’t new. Check out this short video illustration that highlights “traders” from the Bible, a student in 2010 and other traders in between. This popular video illustration is a free download at BluefishTV.com.
